Coate Water: Great White Egret still present. Reported on BirdGuides at 6:57pm. (Observer Unknown)

Liden Lagoon: With the rain gone and the sun out I took a quick walk around a very flooded lagoon. At one stage the water level must have been up to 2 foot above its normal level. even now there is still a very large amount of water pouring in. Highlights were a Grey Heron, a female Goosander, 2 drake Pochard still, 50+ Mallard, 4 Tufted Duck (3 drakes, 1 duck), a Buzzard, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 3 Redwings and 13 Goldfinches. Brinkworth: 70 Lapwing flew south west over Brinkworth at 1:00pm. (Ian Searle)

Marlborough - Swindon: Walking back from Marlborough this afternoon there were 2 Red-legged Partridge at Barton Down, Red Kites over Old Eagle & Rockley and a Mistle Thrush and a Buzzard at Old Eagle. As we were passing Ogbourne Maizey Down heading towards Four Mile Clump, 5 Red Kites appeared overhead staying for about 10 minutes circling and interacting before drifting away in all directions. Around 120 Lapwing flew over while we were watching the Kites. Two flocks of 30+ Linnets around Four Mile Clump. A Red Kite was again seen over Barbury Castle car park and a Kestrel hovering over the west slope of the hill fort. (Trevor and Sue Clayson)

Savernake Forest: Just got back from a nice walk through Savernake forest which produced Fallow Deer, Roe Deer, a pair of Willow Tit, 2 Green Woodpeckers, Nuthatch, Blackcaps, lots of Chaffinches, a probable Crossbill (just couldn't quite get a clear view), Jays, Raven, Rook, Buzzard and Treecreeper. On way back to Swindon I saw Hare, Kestrel, Red Kite, Buzzards and more Roe Deer. (Martin Murray)

Nythe Pool: Highlights of a morning walk around Nythe Pool were a Little Egret which attempted to land but aborted when walkers spooked it, a Grey Heron, 2 Moorhens, 2 pairs of Mallard and a Grey Wagtail. Around the banks and hedgerows 28 Magpies, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, Robin, Long-tailed TitsCoal Tit, Goldfinch and Bullfinch. (Martin Adlam)

Ashton Keynes:  Goldcrest, Long-tailed Tits in the village. Mute Swans, Pied Wagtails, Little Egrets and Fieldfare around the floodwater south of the village.

Pit 41: (Sorry didn't count the numbers) but over 150 Wigeon, a Red-crested Pochard, Gadwall, Mallard, Coot, Black-headed Gulls, Tufted Duck and a Sparrowhawk causing much consternation amongst the Long-tailed Tits as it rifled along the trees between the lakes.

Pit 29: 8 Cormorants roosting on the island, a flock of Lapwing in the distance, 2 Little Grebe and a male Goosander flying.

Pit 30: Smew - 1 male 4 female (one more than recent) and Pochard.

Pit 28a: A few more Red-crested Pochards.

Cotswold Water Park: Some highlights of our walk in the Water Park today were 4 Smew (1m & 3f) and a Water Rail on pit 30, 2 Little Egrets, a male Goldeneye, 4 Red Crested Pochard and 400+ Wigeon on pit 74 and a pair of Goldeneye, 3 Common Gulls and 8 Red Crested Pochard on pit 12. Draycott Foliat: Seen south of Draycott Foliat this morning, 52 Corn Bunting, 40 Redwing, 14 Yellowhammer and a Great Black-backed Gull (First one reported this year) with 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a Herring Gull. (Derek Lyford)

Blunsdon Hill: I had a wander round the bottom of Blunsdon Hill and spotted House Sparrows, Linnets, Goldfinches, Yellowhammers, Corn Buntings, Pied Wagtails, Fieldfare, a Wren and and all the usual suspects. (Gary Chalker)

Swindon: Red Kite being mobbed by gulls over 'Angel Ridge' estate, off Okus Road. Milestone for me as first sighting in this location in one and a half year's residence. (Jeremy Beach)

Froxfield: This morning, 5 Little Egret, Heron, 2 Green Sandpipers, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting, Little Grebe, 11 Moorhen and Red Kite. (Malcolm Royal)

Also at Froxfield: Today I went to see if the Bittern was present but couldn't see it. However worth mentioning was a male Merlin and plenty of Fieldfares in the field in front. Also a couple of Redwings in the bushes close by and Little Egrets. (Martin Murray)

Chiseldon: 7 Corn Bunting, Yellowhammer, Red Kite and 2 Buzzard. (Malcolm Royal)

Ravensroost: Teal, c4 Marsh Tits, 4 Lesser Redpolls, c5 Goldcrests, 2 Treecreepers and large numbers of Long-tailed Tits plus Coal Tits, Great Tits, Blue Tits and several Nuthatches. A Sparrowhawk was seen 3 times and there were also c15 Fieldfares and c15 Redwings, the latter singing (Robin Griffiths)

Lydiard Park: My fourth BTO Winter Thrushes Survey at a windswept Lydiard Park at last brought some reward with a flock of c80 Redwings mixed with c30 Starlings in the farmland to the North West of the Park.  Otherwise 5 Blackbirds.  On the Lake the usual species including 2 Little Grebes plus a pair of Tufted Ducks (not usually seen there). Swindon: At Shaftesbury Avenue Lake there were 2 Mute Swans, a Grey Heron, 32 Canada Geese, 21 Mallard, 4 Tufted Duck, 10 Coot, 6 Moorhen and a Song Thrush. (Trevor and Sue Clayson)

Coate Water: Walking round Coate Water a Great White Egret, 27 Goosander (6 males), 4 Common Gulls, 160 Canada Geese, 35 Mute Swans, 21 Cormorants, 3 Grey Herons, a Little Grebe, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 38 Gadwall, 36 Wigeon, 70 Tufted Duck, 14 Shoveler, 33 Teal, 6 Pochard, 38 Mallard, 130 Coot, 5 Moorhen, 64 Feral Pigeons on the diving board, a Grey Wagtail, 3 Marsh Tits, 2 Coal Tits and 2 Nuthatch were amongst the birds seen.
