Lydiard Park: BTO Winter Thrushes Survey Round 3 and Lydiard Park remains a bit of a winter thrush free zone with just 2 Blackbirds seen. Other species seen in the Park included Long-tailed Tits, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Magpies, Jackdaws, Rooks, Carrion Crows, Robin, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Goldfinch and Sparrowhawk. On the lake over 100 Black-headed Gulls plus Mute Swans, Canada Geese, Great Crested Grebe, 2 Little Grebes, Moorhen, Coot and Mallard. On the way to Lydiard Park at Toothill there was a male Bullfinch and at Grange Park a Jay. (Richard Williams)

Stanton Park: I had a leisurely stroll round Stanton today and eventually ended up at the bottom of the Roman villa field where I saw 3 Goldcrests feeding  on the Brambles. (Gary Chalker)

Coate Water: A late afternoon stroll around the main lake was really nice just as the sun was starting to set. Main highlights were at least 28 Mute Swans, several Redwing and quite a few Chaffinches and Greenfinches about. (Martin Adlam)

Coate Water: On the golf course this morning c35 Redwings. These were moving quickly from tree to tree so very difficult to photograph. Also in the distance was a Mistle Thrush and high up in a tree a Great Spotted Woodpecker. Photos are record shots only. (Maurice Carne)

Stratton Wood: My 6th BTO Winter Thrushes Survey this afternoon produced 17 Redwing in one flock heading north, 2 Song Thrushes and 10 Blackbirds scattered around the wood, with many of them guarding their Hawthorn Bushes. Other highlights were a Kestrel and yet again 2 Treecreeper foraging in the hedgerows alongside Goldcrests, Blue Tits, Great Tits & Long-tailed Tits. Also noted were 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Black-headed Gulls, dozens of Wood Pigeon, 4 Robin, 3 Wren, 2 Dunnock, 6 Magpies, Rook, Carrion Crow, Jackdaws, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch and 3 Bullfinches. Old Town: A roost of at least 100 feral pigeons on top of the old Town Hall. (Felicity Cobb)

Coate Water: A pleasant morning with lots to see including Blue Tit, Great Tit, Robin, Goldcrest, Chaffinch, Blackbird, Magpie, Grey Wagtail and Jay. On the main lake Mallard, Coot, Moorhen, Cormorant, Tufted Duck, Gadwall, Great Crested Grebe, Swans and cygnets. At hide 2 the Great White Egret was showing well but at a distance. On the island Heron and Ruddy Shelduck, with the Heron doing a spot of tidying up. Another Ruddy Shelduck was on the lake with Coot, Mallard, Tufted Duck and Gadwall. On the way back from the causeway bridge a juvenile Heron was concentrating on catching lunch. (Maurice Carne)

Rockley: Tawny Owl near Rockley on the Hackpen to Marlborough road. (Malcolm Royal)

Badbury Clump: Seen - 4 Goldcrest, 4 Marsh Tits, 3 Coal Tits, 30 Chaffinch, 20 Redwings, Treecreeper; heard - Raven, Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Bullfinch, several Jays. (Steve Davies)

Liden Lagoon:  Another good morning at the Lagoon with the main highlight yet again being the Little Egret with his rings again. Also new in a "brownhead" Goosander, 2 Grey Herons and 5 Cormorants. Also about were 2 Mute Swans, Canada Geese including the orange collared individual, Mallard, 9 Tufted Ducks (6♂ and 5), Moorhen, Coot, Black-headed Gulls, Herring Gulls, Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Wood Pigeon, Grey Wagtail, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, 4 Redwings overhead heading east, Goldcrests, Long-tailed Tits, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Wren, Magpies, Rook, Carrion Crow and Chaffinch. In the alders by Barnmoor Close there were 5 Goldfinches and a Redpoll. (Martin Adlam)

Liden Lagoon: I had an enjoyable walk to and around Liden Lagoon this afternoon. There were Cormorants, Black-headed Gulls in winter plumage, Canada Geese, Mute Swans, Moorhens, Mallards and juvenile Lesser Black-backed Gulls. (Antoinette Chitty)

Swindon: A Great Spotted Woodpecker and 10+ Long-tailed Tits were amongst the birds on the feeders today, while we were working in the garden. (Trevor & Sue Clayson)

Stanton Park: Very quiet today with Blue Tit, Great Tit, Nuthatch, Robin and Chaffinch. Several sightings of the Kingfisher, and on the way out a small flock of Redwings passing through. (Maurice Carne)

Pinehurst: I was at home today and put some bird food out in the tree in my front garden. I had only just got through the door and noticed that a number of Sparrows and Starling had started eating it and through the day they have been coming back for more. (Steve Harper)
